Which should you choose
There is no single winner. The right tool is usually the one that fits what your people already use.
Choose Microsoft Teams if
- Your organisation already uses Microsoft 365 and Office documents every day.
- You want chat, files and meetings in one persistent workspace.
- Your IT team wants to manage everything through Microsoft's admin tools.
Choose Google Meet if
- Your organisation uses Google Workspace, Gmail and Google Calendar.
- You often invite guests who should be able to join from a link without installing software.
- You want something quick to learn that runs well on modest devices.
If you are not sure
- Start from the email and calendar you already use; the matching tool will usually integrate best.
- Try a real meeting with a few colleagues in each tool before committing.
- Remember that many organisations use both, because they meet with partners who use the other one.
